Hurricane Sandy

On Tuesday Hurricane Sandy struck the east coast. Reported to be close to the worst storm in the nations history, this superstorm has affected nearly 17 states. So far, at least 55 deaths have been taken in the U.S. on top of the 69 deaths taken by the storm system in the Carribean. Many more are expected to be found within the following days and weeks as rescue workers uncover the damaged states. The damages reported are enormous.
 
Homes, Businesses and roads have been left completely destroyed. Some cities, still two days after the devastating storm hit, remain under water and without power. On Tuesday, a shocking 8.5 million people were left without power.

The storm continues to move north into Canadian provinces. It has also reached eastern michigan with winds of 74 miles per hour, wiping out power from at least 153,000 homes and businesses.
